Jackson State University (JSU) and the City of Jackson will host the JSU Tiger Football National Championship Parade on Friday, January 17, in Downtown Jackson. The community event hosted by Rob J and Alice Marie will celebrate the Tigers' monumental victory at the 2024 National HBCU Football Championship and feature a day full of excitement, pride, and collegiate spirit!
The festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with a Celebration Kickoff at City Hall. Fans can enjoy music from DJ Unpredictable, explore a variety of vendors, indulge in cuisine from local food trucks, and snap photos with the Celebration Bowl Trophy.
At 5 p.m., the energy amps up with a Pep Rally, hosted by Chelle B at the iconic “Welcome to Jackson” mural at State and Pearl Street. Performances by the JSU and JPS Cheerleaders, Sonny THEE Tiger, the Baby Tigers, and other special guests will keep spectators entertained.
The highlight of the evening, the Championship Parade begins at 6 p.m. The parade route will begin at State Street, continue to Capitol Street, proceed along West Street, and loop back via Pascagoula Street. Fans are encouraged to safely line the streets to cheer on Head Coach T.C. Taylor, JSU players, and staff.
The celebration concludes with the Celebration Stage event at 7 p.m. at the “Welcome to Jackson” mural, featuring inspiring remarks from Coach Taylor, standout players, and university leaders.
This event is free and open to the public. JSU alumni, students, fans, and supporters are encouraged to bring their Tiger spirit and make this celebration unforgettable.
